01 Feb Writing Rocks! Support Us on February 28, 2018 Giving Day UC Santa Cruz
The Central California Writing Project was founded by Don Rothman in 1977 to promote exemplary instruction of writing in every classroom at every level. He wanted to “provide a space for sustained, difficult and courageous dialogue about how the teaching of writing can enhance democracy.” The Central California Writing Project is continuing his legacy through programs and professional learning opportunities that support educators in this goal, especially those who work with underserved and diverse populations. Funding has been cut at the state and national level.
We need your help to provide scholarships for teachers who want to improve their teaching of writing in in Santa Cruz, San Benito and Monterey Counties. This will give teachers the time, space and encouragement to learn how to teach their students to become better thinkers and writers, critical skills in today’s society.
Writing Rocks! Support improvement in writing instruction and in student writing/literacy learning.
