using productive tensions between theory and practice as resources for design

Research Questions

  • What was the nature of the design process in a teacher inquiry group focused on the Pedagogy of Multiliteracies framework and how did this process shape the participants’ roles as designers and their larger perspectives on teaching and learning?
  • In what ways did the process of recontextualizing a critical multiliteracies perspective for classroom use change the inquiry group participants’ perspectives of literacy and associated ideologies, identities and way of making meaning?
  • What transformational moments occurred for the inquiry group participants and what significance did they have for imagining new identities for teachers and students as designers?
